Did anybody check it out?
I sure did, and I'm going to go see it again! It was action pack from beginning to end. And it was full on military battle, from both sides. Which i loved! Finally an invasion movie done right! The CGI was very impressive! I couldn't believe my eyes! The aliens looked fresh and new. There weapons were similar to ours ( i think bullets) Not lasers like what the norm says about an invasion..Do Not go expecting War of Worlds type weaponry..you'll be disappointed. The weapons are close to home but alien designed. The movie had a 'Saving Private Ryan' meets District 9 feel to it.
Guys go show this movie some support...take 20 of your buddies! You won't be disappointed. It reminded me of Killzone 1. The impossible odds they faced!
And SPOILER
"Thank god it wasn't some dumb reason why we (Human beings) pushed them (Alien invaders) back... coughs "War of the germs..i mean world" The victory was due to full on Military onslaught. You felt both sides fighting for each inch.
I couldn't help but say a line from Gen. Lente. (but edited for BT:LA) "A 7 man squad? a 6.6 command center? IMPOSSIBLE" lol If you saw the movie you'll know what I'm talking about!
The movie was long enough, very enjoyable. If you're a fan of shooter games, military movies, or action pack films, then BT:LA is a must see for you.
I give this a 4.5 out of 5.
I can't wait for the Blu-ray and a i look forward to a sequel...as longs as they can build on what they have here. And keep it up with good actors, then the second film will blow us away! This is a franchise i hope continues. And the fact that it was Pg-13 was interesting, with the amount of "killing" and Mature rated content.
